Introduction

Welcome to Booktel ("Booktel", "we", "us", or "our"), owned and operated by DMSync Infotech.

Booktel is a hotel discovery and technology platform. Participating hotels display their rooms, prices, discounts, availability, facilities, photographs, policies, and other information through Booktel, and Booktel may redirect customers to the respective hotel's own website to complete a booking.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect personal information when you access Booktel or use our services.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you use Booktel, we may collect:

• Name, mobile number, email address, and account/login information.
• Profile information, and general location such as city or state.
• Hotel search information: destination, check-in/check-out dates, number of guests and rooms, and hotel preferences.
• Reviews, ratings, and other communications you send us.
• Device and browser information, IP address, login/activity information, and cookies (see "Cookies" below).
• For hotel owners: information provided during registration and verification, including hotel and business information, and GST/business details where required.
• Any other information you voluntarily submit to us.

We only collect information reasonably required to provide and improve our services.

Hotel Booking Information

When you select a participating hotel through Booktel, you may be redirected to that hotel's own website to complete your booking. Information you submit directly on the hotel's website is collected and processed by that hotel (and/or the systems used to operate that hotel's website), not by Booktel. The applicable hotel is responsible for its booking fulfilment, guest services, cancellation, and refund obligations.

Where Booktel provides an enabled enquiry, booking, support, review, saved-stay or account feature, we process the information needed for that feature and may share the relevant booking/contact details with the selected hotel and contracted providers that need them to complete the requested workflow. The confirmation page or hotel website should be checked to identify the party completing the booking.

Payment Information

Hotel booking payments: Booktel does not collect hotel room booking payments. Payments for a hotel stay are completed on the respective hotel's own website, using the payment methods that hotel makes available.

Booktel service payments: Booktel may separately collect payment from hotel owners for services such as annual subscriptions, website development, or add-ons. These payments are processed through authorised third-party payment gateways, banks, or UPI providers — we do not store complete card numbers, CVVs, or banking passwords, as these are handled securely by our payment service provider.

How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage accounts, and authenticate users.
• To provide hotel search, display hotel information, and operate hotel websites and owner dashboards.
• To process Booktel subscription/service purchases and provide customer support.
• To communicate service-related information, prevent fraud, and maintain platform security.
• To improve our products, analyse platform usage, and manage reviews and ratings.
• To maintain records and meet legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements.
• To resolve complaints and disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Cookies

Booktel uses cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, analytics, and performance. You can control cookies through your browser or any available consent settings — disabling essential cookies may affect how the Platform functions.

Who We Share It With

• Participating hotels, where necessary for your search or enquiry.
• Hosting and cloud service providers, and analytics/security providers.
• Payment gateways and banks, for Booktel service payments only.
• Email, SMS, and WhatsApp communication providers.
• Professional advisers, and government or regulatory authorities where legally required.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for unrelated marketing purposes.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our services, maintain business and transaction records, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and comply with applicable legal, tax, and regulatory requirements. Information that is no longer required is deleted or anonymised in line with these practices.

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards appropriate to the information we process, including encrypted (SSL/TLS) connections and access controls. No internet-based system can guarantee absolute security; you are responsible for keeping your passwords, OTPs, and account credentials confidential.

We assess, contain and document suspected personal-data breaches and notify affected persons and competent authorities where and when applicable law requires.

Your Rights & Choices

Subject to applicable law, you may contact us to access, correct, update, or request deletion of your personal information. Certain information may need to be retained where required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, or regulatory reasons. You can also opt out of promotional communications at any time; you'll still receive essential service-related messages.

To request account deletion, contact the privacy address below from your registered account. We may verify your identity, explain information that must lawfully be retained, disable the account, and delete or anonymise eligible data after active bookings, payments, disputes and legal holds are addressed. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it using the provided method; withdrawal does not affect processing already lawfully completed and may make an optional feature unavailable.

Analytics, Communications & Consent

We may analyse IP address, device/browser details, page activity, searches, performance and error information to secure and improve the Platform. Operational, security, booking and legal messages may be sent where necessary. Promotional communication is sent only on an appropriate lawful basis or consent, with an opt-out where applicable. Where consent is legally required, we will identify the purpose and provide a valid withdrawal method.

Third-Party & Hotel Websites

Booktel may link to hotel websites and other third-party sites. Once you access a third-party or hotel-controlled service, that party's own privacy policy and terms apply — please review the applicable hotel's policies before completing a booking.

Children's Privacy

An account holder or person entering into a transaction must generally be at least 18 years old and legally capable. Where a child’s information is necessarily processed for a lawful hotel or booking purpose, a parent or lawful guardian must act as required and additional consent and safeguards will be applied where applicable law requires.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices, providers or applicable law. Material changes and the updated date will be highlighted on this page and notified through available account details where appropriate. Renewed consent will be requested where legally required.
